Mutation: Avalanche is a mutant with the superhuman ability to generate powerful waves of vibrations from his hands, creating highly destructive effects. The vibrations can cause an inorganic object to shatter or crumble into dust. When directed against large objects, like buildings or upon the earth itself, the vibrations can produce effects similar to those of an earthquake or an avalanche within a limited area. Avalanche can cause the ground to move like a tidal wave and ride it for quick transportation. He need not touch an object to affect it; he can direct the vibrations against it from some distance away.

Avalanche is himself immune to the effects of generating these intense vibratory waves. However, if the vibrations were to be reflected back upon him, he would be injured. Moreover, Avalanche's power has little or no effect on organic tissue. Attempting to use his power on such tissue results in a feedback effect that can shatter the bones in Avalanche's arms.

As yet there is no known limit to the amount of area upon which Avalanche can use his powers at a given time. However, there is no evidence that he could create an earthquake capable of destroying an entire city.

Personality: Avalanche has a dark but charming personality. He's extremely loyal to his superior(s) and has relentless ambition for mutant rights/superiority. He has a quiet and sly demeanor about him, but is very intelligent and forthcoming. From strategy to art, little gets by him. Some may call it ironic that he can destroy a building with his hands, but is sophisticated enough to wine taste.

History: Dominic was born on a quaint olive farm in Crete, Greece. He was an only child, raised by his parents Alexandrea and Adrastus. His father owned and operated the farm with help from Dominic during his summers out of school. He gained a vast amount of knowledge about tools and machinery during that time. It wasn't until Dominic's preteen years that the family began to endure hardships. His mother suffered from a rare blood disorder and died suddenly in her thirties, leaving the family dysfunctional. After her death, fighting became common between Dominic and his father, especially as troubles arose in school.

It was a typical afternoon during the week when the young man would discover his potent ional. Dominic's school called his father and informed him that Dominic would be suspended for fighting and vandalism. Getting used to his son's bad behavior, he shrugged and agreed to come pick him up. He didn't become angry until the school asked him if he was going to pay for the property damage. While fighting, Dominic unintentionally used his powers to damage a large portion of the building. The school assumed he took the person he was fighting with and threw him into the wall. The school wanted to expel him, but after reviewing his grades and realizing his potential, they decided to keep him under probation.

After being in and out of different schools for bad behavior and never being academically challenged enough, Dominic decided to take his education into his own hands. He dropped out of high school during his sophomore year and would spend the majority of his time pursuing studies on his own. Published information would allow him to thoroughly research known mutants and their powers, along with military tactics and methods used by rebels. After learning about the abundance of mutant oppression, he wanted to use his knowledge to forcefully impose mutant rights. He taught himself what he wanted to learn and was able to develop his mutant abilities and a sense of culture without any help from others. He ran away from home at the age of eighteen and at the same time fell in love with a non-mutant woman named Helen. Helen became his wife after two years and the couple moved to a home in southern Greece. Tragedy followed Dominic yet again when Helen was brutally murdered a year later after suspects learned that she married a mutant.

It wasn’t until Dominic learned that his wife was killed because of a hate crime that he would begin his drastic descent into hatred, violence, and despair. He is currently charged with the murders of hundreds of people in many countries, including Greece, France, Germany, Great Britain, and the United States. He stands at number nine on the international most wanted mutant terrorist list. His mutant ability has made it very difficult for him to be captured, let alone contained.
